Zoom Webinar
Zoom Licensing Is Changing —
Join Us to Learn What’s Ahead
Zoom licensing is changing, and we want to make sure you’re prepared. KanREN, in partnership with Zoom, is hosting a brief informational webinar AT 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 18 (registration link below) for members who currently purchase Zoom through KanREN—or anyone considering Zoom in the future. We’ll cover what’s changing, what it means for your institution, and what to expect as we head into upcoming renewals.
About the Transition to Zoom Workplace
Zoom’s platform continues to evolve, and as part of this evolution, KanREN and Zoom will be transitioning accounts from legacy Zoom licenses to Zoom Workplace for Education. This transition is designed to ensure continued reliable access to Zoom while providing a more modern, streamlined experience tailored specifically for education users.
What this means for you:
No disruption to your day-to-day use — your core Zoom functionality remains the same
Access to an expanded Zoom experience, bringing meetings, chat, phone (where applicable), and collaboration tools into a single, consistent interface
Improved performance, security, and long-term support, aligned with Zoom’s current education product roadmap
Better value over time, as Zoom consolidates features into fewer, more capable licenses
Webinar Overview
During this session, KanREN and Zoom will:
Walk through the transition to Zoom Workplace for Education
Introduce new bundled offerings, including meeting licenses, webinars, large meetings, Zoom Phone, and additional solutions that support both small and large campuses
Help you begin assessing your video and meeting needs ahead of the upcoming renewal cycle
For members who would benefit from more direct support, KanREN can also help schedule one-on-one conversations with the Zoom team to explore options that best fit your institution’s needs, including services you may not currently use but are interested in learning more about.
Depending on member interest, KanREN and Zoom may offer additional webinars or host an in-person event, likely in April at the same time as our Annual Member Meeting, to demo and further explore available options.
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at info@kanren.org or by calling 785-856-9800. We look forward to helping you prepare for the transition and ensuring your institution is well-positioned for the upcoming renewal cycle.
