In Memoriam: Mike Plum

KanREN mourns the passing of Terry Michael “Mike” Plum, a friend and valued member of our Financial Committee, who passed away on January 26, 2026, at the age of 59. Mike brought deep knowledge, sharp skills, and thoughtful insight to his work with KanREN, and he was truly a pleasure to work alongside. His background in computer science, business, and information technology, combined with his collaborative spirit, made a lasting impact on our organization.

Mike was a University of Kansas graduate with a bachelor’s degree in computer science and later earned a master’s degree in business. Over the years, he excelled in a career in IT while also co-owning and operating Rolling Hills Nursery with his wife, Sharon, for more than two decades. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Mike was known for his warmth, curiosity, and many interests, from music and boating to spending time with family and friends.

We are grateful for Mike’s service, dedication, and friendship. He will be deeply missed by the KanREN community, and our thoughts are with his family and loved ones.
